Getting There
La Mole is 15KM south of St.Tropez on the D98 road between Cogolin and Bormes -les-Mimosas
It is a 90 minute drive from Nice airport and a 30 minute drive from Toulon Airport.
St.Tropez's local airport is also nearby but for private planes only.
La Mole & St. Tropez Area
La Mole is a peaceful village in the heart of the Maures mountains and is close to the sea. Surrounded by a gorgeous forest. La Mole is well located for walking and cycling, at the top of the hill, on the rock of St. Madeleine, and north of the present village, are the ruins of the original community of La Mole and an 11th Century Castle.
La Mole is located 15 kms behind St-Tropez on the "Route des Vins". It has been a popular location for celebrities over the years because of the wonderful surroundings and the proximity of the famous coastal resorts of St Tropez, Nice and Cannes. Many still visit regularly and can be seen at the renowned "L'Auberge de la Mole" restaurant.
GRIMAUD
Only 10 minutes away from La Mole is Grimaud a charming medieval village crowned by its Feudal castle and was the guardian of the former Gulf of Grimaud. The village invites you to take a walk through the centuries, strolling along shady little lanes discover the sites and the calm and serenity that is Grimaud. In our opinion Grimaud is home to some of the best restaurants around St Tropez
St Tropez
Originally just a sleepy fishing village frequented by painters and writers was changed forever by "And God Created Woman", a 1956 film that put this town as well as Brigitte Bardot on the map. Suddenly it was the pinnacle of chic and everybody wanted to be there. The best beaches are out of town, including the popular Plage de Pampelonne. Situated on the east side of the peninsula, this golden curve of sand is packed full of beach clubs and restaurants. Further south is the Plage de l'Escalet, much less crowded and free
The city of Toulon is a 30 minute drive from La Mole and is the capital of the region. The surrounding vineyards produce some of the most renowned wines. Travelling from Toulon towards St Tropez you will reach Hyères which marks the start of the celebrated Cote d'Azur.
Chateau Minuty A short drive from Villa des Mimosas is the Vineyard of Chateau Minuty. The Vineyard is open to the public and well worth a visit. The property includes a splendid stately house dating from the Napoleon III period, an 18th century farmhouse, and most importantly, 90 hectares of vines.
Villa des Mimosas in La Mole is the ideal setting for anyone who loves the countryside but wants to be within easy reach of the sea, coastal resorts, St Tropez and the Alpes Maritimes.
Activities around Villa des Mimosas in La Mole & St.TRopez
The villa is well located for driving to beaches etc, by direct access to roads that run behind the main congested coastal route (from St Maxime to Pampelonne), avoiding most of the traffic that St Tropez is (in)famous for.
The sunny days are yours to enjoy, whether to purely lounge around the pool or soak up sunrays & cocktails at the beach clubs of Pampelonne Beach or Cogolin Plage
Explore St Tropez old town and the port by boat or foot
Dine at the excellent restaurants & bars
Or stroll through vineyards, sampling local cellar-door wines, then meander home…

BEACHES
Visit seesainttropez website for latest information on local beaches and restaurants

Pampelonne:
If wanting a full beach day, leave by 9.45am to miss most of the tourist traffic, or if wanting to do ‘aperitif’ at the day clubs, make your way there at about 4pm.
Directions: (to avoid hitting St Tropez traffic)
At Geant supermarket roundabout, take the 1st exit, and head towards Ramatuelle. At a roundabout just before Ramatuelle, turn left where there are signs for La Croix Valmer and Beaches/Plages.
There are many small roads leading off the main road onto Pampelonne Beach, depending which beach club you are heading for. All roads lead to public areas of the beach also.
WATER PARKS
The best – Aqualand at St. Aygulf, about a 45 minute drive. It’s north of St Maxime along the coast road, just before Frejus. It has dozens of water slides on the park, and go-karting next to it.
There is another Aqualand on a roundabout behind St Maxime, (follow signs for motorway behind St Maxime). This park is closer, but only half the size of the water park in St Aygulf.
RESTAURANTS
A lovely afternoon or evening out is to walk through the cobblestone streets of one of the ancient hilltop towns of Grimaud, Gassin or Ramatuelle. Choose to eat in one of the many terraced restaurants lining the alleyways.
